KARACHI: Following an FIR against Facebook founders Mark Zuckerberg, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes, the Lahore High Court (LHC) has set a hearing date of July 9 against the aforementioned persons as well as the German woman “Andy” responsible for running the Draw Muhammad Contest on Facebook.

If the July 9 hearing finds the defendants guilty of blasphemy against  the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), a death sentence may be issued as is the penalty under Criminal Code 295-C on blasphemy laws.

The story has been picked up by international news media and is gaining  traction on Facebook itself as well as other media circles.

Facebook co-founders Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes have not been active with Facebook as of late.

A Facebook spokeswoman declined to comment on the matter saying that Facebook does not speak about legal matters.
